Danish energy company Ørsted has chosen Semco Maritime to build the electric and mechanical basic design of a 1,4 GW offshore transformer substations in the Hornsea Project Two offshore wind farm.

”We are very pleased that Ørsted has chosen to involve us this early in the development of the project, and we are proud to be able to offer solutions based on our experiences of having completed 16 offshore sub stations since 2002,” says Tommy Flindt, Director of Technology in Semco Maritime.

Semco Maritime will set the basic rules and requirements for the project and lay the foundation for a successful completion of the project and the installation of the substations. Hornsea Project Two Offshore Wind Farm will be established 89 kilometers from the British Yorkshire coast and will be the world's largest wind farm once it operates, which is expected to be in 2022.

The Engineering Project will be executed by Semco Maritimes offices, located in the cities of Esbjerg and Ballerup, during the period of November 2017 to October 2018.
