Orskov Yard has signed a lease contract with the Port of Frederikshavn regarding a new quay – and back land area. The point of the agreement is to increase Orskov Yards dock leveller capacity with one or more floating docks. The first dock is expected to be delivered next year

"We have been working on expanding our dock leveller capacity for a while now, and with this contract with the Port of Frederikshavn, we get quay and back land area, which makes it possible to put new floating docks in the area where we already have one floating dock", says CEO of Orskov Yard, Lars Fischer.

”The expanding of the port is expected to be finished by the end of 2020, the same year that the first floating dock is expected to be delivered”. Says Lars Fischer.

The Port of Frederikshavn is also very exited about the contract.

”We are very happy with our deal with Orskov Yard, a deal that is very important as it utilize the potential that the port expansion gives us. Orskov Yard has a significant role in the development of the port of Frederikshavn's maritime service industry with great importance for both city and port, and Jeppe Ørskov was also one of the initiators of the port expansion back in 2010 ”, says CEO of the Port of Frederikshavn, Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen,

”It is amazing that Orskov Yard has chosen to heavily invest in the development of their business, which will impact the total maritime service industry – not just the Port of Frederiskhavn, but the whole of Northern Jutland”. Says Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen.

Orskov Yard recently celebrated their 60 year anniversary.
