Strandbys fishing industry is in the midst of a positive evolution, and because of this a lot of people have ordered new and larger fishing vessel and are thereby investing in the future. Therefore the Port of Strandby has decided to hire Christian Heidemann Andersen as the ports new harbourmaster. His job will be to develop the port concurrently with the positive growth that the port’s customers are experiencing.

”We have chosen Christian because of his background experience with construction technique, and because we believe that he is the right person to operate and develop the port as platform for growth. His primary task is to handle the ports development so that we develop with and for the industry, and so we create optimal foundations for growth. At the same time we believe that he has an understanding of the local environment which is needed in order to hold such a position,” says Chariman of the Board in Strandby Fiskerihavn I/S, Claus Hjørne Pedersen.

Christian Heidemann Andersen resides in Hjørring, he has a background in engineering and was previously employed as project manager for the Danish Defence Estates.

Christian Heidemann begins his new position on November 1 and will be in charge of the strategic development in cooperation with the board and the daily contact with the ports users and persons of interest.

”I look forward to a positive working relationship with the board and the ports clients. My first task is a strategy task and in connection with this I will be visiting a lot of the ports clients. The goal will be to find out what kind of service we should supply in order to make the port attractive for clients, and how we, to the best of our ability, utilize their growth to gain Strandby in general. I have always been attracted to the East coast and I think there is a special atmosphere in the Port of Strandby. The city and the port have strong ties, and I am looking forward to becoming a part of this”, says Christian Heidemann Andersen.
