Larger revenue in Maersk Logistics

17-05-2018 10:00:00

Maersk Logistics & Services increased their revenues for the first quarter of the year to 1,46 billion dollars from 1,38 billion in the same period in 2017. Though profits did drop from 32 billion dollars to 23 dollars.

Maersk's non-sea-related company, Logistics & Services, which includes Damco, Maersk Container Industries and Maersk Line's land-based business, increased revenues with six percent. This was a decrease of 13 percent in the same period in 2017. This is viewed as a dissatisfying level.

Profitability was affected by the continued investments in new digital solutions and implementations that are considered as the key to supporting the strategic direction towards becoming a global company in container logistics.

Cost’s were also negatively affected due to limitations on capacity for trucks in Nothern America. Gross profit was 263 million dollars compared to 253 million dollars in the same period last year.

Management of the division are going to start initiatives to improve rent ability.
