01-05-2018 14:00:00

Maersk Drilling has received three consecutive contracts for Maersk Resolute and an extension of a contract for Maersk Resolve. Both Maersk companies operate in the Netherland part of the North Sea. The value of the contracts is unknown at this point.

"The North Sea remains an important market for Maersk Drilling, and with the new contracts for Maersk Resolute and the extension of a contract for Maersk Resolve, we are strengthening our presence in the area even more," says Morten Kelstrup, CCIO in Maersk Drilling.

The establishment of the highly effective jackup rig Maersk Resolute has resulted in three consecutive contract agreements with TAQA Energy B.V., Petrogas E & P Nederlandene B.V, and Dana Petroleum Netherlands B.V, for different types of operational tasks in the Netherlands part of the North Sea.

The new contract with TAQA Energy B.V. covers the tasks of closing and sealing the undersea wells, and the job will begin in June 2018 with a 60 day period. In extension of this, the contract with Petrogas E & P Holland and Dana Petroleum Netherlands B.V., which will last approximately 70 days, will be set in motion.

In addition to the already planned 130 work days period, the contract TAQA Energy B.V. and Petrogas E & P Netherlands B.V. could be for extended with an additional 235 days, which would take place in the second and third quarter of 2018.

The highly efficient jackup rig Maersk Resolve has also been given a contract extension by Wintershall Noordzee B.V. in regards to the task of drilling an extra well in the ongoing drilling project in the Netherlands part of the North Sea. The extension begins towards the end of the second quarter of 2018 and will last 25-40 days.
