Talented Bunker Purchaser

If yes, this position offers a unique opportunity for career development in TORM who is operating a large fleet of 80 product tanker vessels.
The successful candidate will, in co-operation with 3 dedicated colleagues, be responsible for negotiating and purchasing bunker fuel for all the vessels operated by TORM worldwide.
In this position, there will be plenty of room for development. You will learn to make sure that all parameters have been considered in the negotiation process (timing, forward curves, financial- and credit terms, etc.) and to analyze market data both for optimization and benchmarking purposes together with our colleagues in the Operations- and Chartering Department.
Furthermore, responsibilities include:
• Daily bunker market assessment
• Keeping up-to-date on bunker related issues, legislation, etc.
• Handling bunker disputes and claims, advising and coordinating with the Operations Department and our Vessel Management team
• Pursuing new business opportunities in the bunker market
• Checking and approval of invoices
The ideal candidate is a responsible person who is full of initiative. You probably just finalized a shipping trainee program or a Bachelor/Master’s degree for example within business administration. Relevant work experience can be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
A flair for negotiation and a result-oriented approach are vital to fulfil both the company’s strategic ambitions and excel as a Bunker Purchaser. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, often needing to handle several deals and tasks at once and you will be expected to profitably use your market knowledge.
