Vestas has confirmed that they have entered a conditional agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company for the supply of up to 1,000 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines for MidAmericans 2,000 MW Wind XI project in Iowa, which is still pending approval by the Iowa Utilities Board.

"This project would, if approved, provide considerable economic benefits for MidAmericans customers, and Vestas is proud to cooperate with MidAmerican Energy in their objective to generate 100 percent renewable energy," said Chris Brown, President, Vestas' sales and service department in the United States and Canada.

The conditional agreement consists of supply and commissioning of the turbines and a five-year Active Output Management 4000 service contract with a possibility of an extension. Depending on, among other things, the pending authorization, supply and commissioning of the wind turbines will happen in the period 2016-2019.

The conditional agreement includes the addition of an exclusivity agreement for Vestas to supply 100 percent of MidAmericans 2016 Safe Harbor PTC components.
